Valentine's Day is a fun day to show people in your life how much you love them. We've come up with four simple ideas to show your college student some extra love.
1) Add Hawk Bucks to your student’s meal plan that can be used at Rhapsody to have a nice dinner out. Rhapsody is a casual fine dining restaurant in Nelsonville run by Hocking College and their culinary arts, baking, hospitality and event management students. To add bucks, contact the Cashier's Office at 740-753-6294 or stop by their office located on the first floor of John Light Hall.
2) Write your student a letter telling them what you love about them. Make it extra special by getting the entire family involved by asking grandparents, aunts, uncles, and even younger siblings to write a letter too. It's a way to tell your student how proud you are of the hard work they're doing in school.
3) Send your student a Valentine-themed care package. Fill a box with your student's favorite local treats from home, chocolate, candy, snacks, small stuffed animals, mugs, coffee, tea, and cocoa. Or anything else your student might enjoy!
4) Video chat with your student. Use Valentine's Day as the perfect opportunity to catch up with your student and what has been happening in their classes and lives.
However you decide to show your student some love, remember that just reaching out lets them know you care. It’s the perfect way to have fun and enjoy this Valentine's Day.
