Dr. Tamara Moyer has been accepted as a Peer Evaluator for the Accreditation Commission for Education in Nursing (ACEN). This opportunity will allow her to contribute to the quality of nursing education and observe practices in other nursing programs that will benefit the Hocking College Nursing Program.
She will be learning from peers who work and reside in other states. This will increase networking opportunities, foster her development as a nurse educator, advance her knowledge about Standards and Criteria set forth by ACEN and expand her expertise in nursing education accreditation. All of this will reflect in the success of Hocking College's Nursing Program.
Dr. Moyer is a subject matter expert and will be contributing to the peer review process and serving as a peer evaluator, strengthening the quality of nursing education through accreditation.
This opportunity will allow Dr. Moyer additional training to prepare her for site visits as part of a team. Through this process, she will learn from other programs what they are doing to improve their curriculum and student outcomes, in return, she will take these principles and implement them.
This is an exciting opportunity for Dr. Moyer. She says: "the knowledge I gain will not only benefit me as a leader in nursing education, but have a positive effect on our students and their success".
