Become one with the environment and get swept up in the scenery of the great outdoors by taking advantage of the new bike rental program from the Hocking College Nature Center.

The Nature Center is open 10 a.m. - 4 p.m. Friday, Saturday and Sunday. Members of the community can rent a bike for $10 an hour or $40 for the day. All bikes must be returned to the Nature Center before it closes at 4 p.m.

The Hocking College Nature Center is a place for families to explore the natural world in a state-of-the-art environment. The Nature Center’s hands-on, interactive walk-through displays are a captivating experience from the youngest learners to environmental science professionals.

Also along the bike path are newly installed outdoor fitness machines. Thanks to a grant secured by Hocking College, these machines were installed earlier this year for students, staff and community members to enjoy.

Kevin Cox, the Director of Community Standards, Accountability and Outdoor Pursuits said that “the grant has allowed Hocking College to focus more on outdoor exercising for its students, staff and community members due to the closure of many indoor activities such as swimming, aerobics, fitness training, weight training, yoga and court sports.”

Although there are several parks along the bike path, there are none that have outdoor exercise equipment designated specifically for users of the Hockhocking Adena Bikeway. The 13 exercise machines are spread out from John Light Hall all the way to the Hocking College Nature Center. Each machine serves a different purpose for both upper body and lower body workouts.

If you're looking for a way to get outside and get healthy, bike rentals and outdoor exercise equipment are a great start!
