A recent analysis by Statista.com showed that manufacturing companies in the U.S. will be spending roughly $128.7 billion on robotics and drones.
In part, because of this demand, Hocking College will begin offering an Advanced Manufacturing and Engineering Technologies degree program in Autumn 2020. The program is designed to prepare students to enter the advanced manufacturing and robotics industry.
Advanced manufacturing incorporates technology into existing manufacturing processes to increase overall efficiency. The goal of advanced manufacturing is to help businesses minimize waste and produce more products in less time.
It’s currently estimated that in the next decade there will be roughly 3.5 million advanced manufacturing positions waiting to be filled.
