With more than 139 million users, Netflix is one of the top platforms for watching shows and movies, especially during the cold winter months in Ohio.

Check out our list of the top five tv shows to binge watch on Netflix based on your Hocking College major:

Friends

Number one on our list is regarded as one of the best sitcoms ever made. With an all-star cast that the viewer could relate to and one-liners that left you laughing out loud, Friends is an easy show to binge.

If you're anything like the characters from Friends, your in the prime of your life and want to grow your professional career. At Hocking College, you might be like Monicia and go into our great culinary arts program or like Phoebe and practice massage therapy.

If you're a Rachel and into Fashion, you might find your ideal career through our new Fashion Design and Retail Merchandising degree and if you're into acting like Joey, you might consider checking out our Film and Video Production program.

The Friends series is a must-see, but hurry up and check it out because it is rumored that it will be leaving Netflix in 2020.

The Office (US Version)

Number two on our list is another member of sitcom royalty. Chances are you have seen the countless memes or simply heard someone quote this show since it was rated as Netflix's most watched show.

The Office has become a phenomenon and has become more popular now than it did while on the air from 2005-2013. The Office is quirky but that is what makes it so enjoyable to watch. Audiences become invested in the characters and it feels like a family.

The Office is unique because it is filmed as a documentary and follows the employees of a paper company. The show itself is designed to look low budget.

If there's anything you take away from The Office it's that Michael Scott should have went to Hocking College for Business Management -- maybe that would help him manage the company.

Orange is the New Black

Number three is a more serious show but still fantastic. Believe it or not there was a time when Netflix had no original series; then came Orange is the New Black (OITNB).

OITNB is a show about Piper Chapman who has had a privileged life then is sentenced to a women's prison. The show follows her story and everyone she meets. In February 2019, the show released its 7th and final season so now is the time to catch up.

It gives a really important insight into the criminal justice system. The show makes you think about the way we treat prisoners, so if you are into Criminal Justice we recommend you check this show out..

Schitt's Creek

Number four is Schitt's Creek.

This quirky Candian comedy is about the Rose family, a wealthy clan who knows no hardships until their business goes down because of some bad money management.

As police seize all of their posessions in the opening pilot, they only allow them to keep property they purchased as a joke when they had excess money. The Rose family is  forced to relocate to the small town, aptly named Schitt's Creek.

The show follows the hilarious culture shock that the family encounters as they adapt to small-town life. This show is highly underrated with only five seasons available on Netflix, so do yourself a favor and watch it.

Maybe consider a degree in accounting so that you'll know if your business partner is fudging the numbers, eh?

Nurse Jackie

Last but not least is one of the best dramas on Netflix today.

Nurse Jackie is about Jackie Peyton, a dedicated emergency room nurse who has trouble trying to keep everything together in her personal life. After an accident she begins to use pain killers and becomes addicted so she must hide her addiction to everyone in her life.

Watch as she tries to find balance in her work and home life trying to make the right choice. The show is edgy and dramatic, but also adds a good dose of humor at the right moments.

The show does a great job shining a light on how hard nurses work and the challenges they face everyday. This is a great show if you are interested in becoming a nurse or studying addiction.
