Students interested in pursuing this degree program should be aware that a huge part of their success in this industry will depend on their ability to
secure an apprenticeship.
In January 2018, Hocking College entered into a partnership with the Ohio Carpenters' Joint Apprenticeship and Training Program to begin offering a pre-apprenticeship program. This partnership will incorporate Hocking College’s existing Carpentry Program with the Apprenticeship’s training cycle.

Students in the program will also learn about safety procedures for hand tools and small power equipment, the history of union construction trades, and the various apprenticeship opportunities in the construction business.
