Career & University Center Helps Student Achieve Career Readiness

At Hocking College, Career readiness means that when our students walk across the stage to accept their diploma, they not only have the knowledge and skills they got from their classes but the work ethic and job skills that prepare them to transition into the workplace.

How does Hocking College prepare students to enter the workforce?

Besides having a long-standing reputation for providing hands-on work experience, Hocking College’s Career and University Center equips students with the essential tools, skills and knowledge they’ll need to stand out in the workforce.

Located at John Light Hall, room 193, the Career and University Center offers students services to prepare them for life after college:

• Review services that assist students in developing and polishing their job resume. 
• Strategy services that teach students how to conduct themselves during job interviews properly.
• Workshops designed to assist students on how to develop their career skills.
• Etiquette dinners held at Rhapsody Restaurant to teach students how to conduct themselves during business lunches and dinners
• Job fairs to introduce future graduates to potential employers.

What else does the Career and University Center offer?

The Career and University Center’s Career Closet gives students the opportunity to pick out an outfit that’s interview-appropriate free of charge.

Located in John Light Hall-Room 181, the Career Closet has the following items of 

apparel to students:

• Shoes and belts
• Dresses
• Skirts
• Blouses
• Accessories (Jewelry, scarves, etc.)
• Dress shirts
• Business suits
• Neckties

The Career Closet is open from 8 a.m. to 6 p.m., Monday through Friday.

Can the Career & University Center help me find a job?

If you’re a recent Hocking College graduate looking for a job, or a current student looking for temporary employment, the Career and University Center’s Job Board can help you find the type of work you’re looking for.

Regardless of your field of study, the job board is here to promote positions that any graduate or current student at the college would be qualified to fill.

First, job seekers need to visit the job board website. Then they can start searching for jobs either by Degree Program or Job Title. Also, each job posting provides students with the following important job-related information:
