The Hocking Makers is devoted to empowering people to find their passions through introductions to tools, approachable and affordable classes, and workshop membership opportunities to pursue their interests on their own. It is envisioned to help the residents of Nelsonville and surrounding communities. HMN provides a network of workshops, tools, resources, classes, connections and opportunities that help expose people to skills, careers and potential they didn’t know they had. Although operated by Hocking College, HMN is not overtly branded as a Hocking College entity and is intended to be a self-sustaining non-profit. The Network currently uses three locations: a welding lab in Logan, a wood lab just outside of Nelsonville and the Visual Arts Center on Hocking College’s Nelsonville campus.
