Hocking College in Nelsonville, Ohio offers an Early Childhood Education program that places its students in a classroom observation setting beginning the first semester. The two-year curriculum leads to an Associate of Applied Science in Early Childhood Education, which will provide graduates with the credentials needed to begin a career in the field of early childhood education.
For those who want to continue their studies beyond a two-year degree, Hocking College provides opportunities to transfer to a four-year college to pursue an Ohio Teaching License.

- Demonstrating an understanding of the principles of effective classroom management and guidance, including emergency procedures to ensure the safety, health, and general well-being of learners
- An understanding of the purpose and value of programs for individuals with exceptional learning needs and the role of the paraprofessional in providing services to all children and youth with disabilities
- Understanding prescribed federal, district, and agency policies & procedures
- A knowledge of media technology as it relates to the field of education
What Will I Be Able to Do After Graduating?
In addition, completion of this program allows you to work in private child daycare settings and private pre-schools as a lead teacher.
