School of Natural Resources Host First-Ever Alumni Hall of Fame Ceremony

Five Hocking College alumni became the first inductees into Hocking College's School of Natural Resources Alumni Hall of Fame, which took place on Saturday, September 29.

Who Were the Inductees?

The recipients of this honor and their credentials include:

• Mike Miller: Ohio Department of Natural Resources, Chief of Division of Wildlife
• Mike Taylor: Retired Ohio Department of Natural Resources Administrator for Law Enforcement
• Gary Obermiller: Ohio Department of Natural Resources Assistant Director
• Pat Quackenbush: Naturalist Supervisor of Ohio Department of Natural Resources Division of Parks & Watercraft, Hocking Hills State Park
• Ken Temple: Hocking College NR Law Enforcement Program Manager, Lake Snowden Park Manager, Retired Ohio Department of Natural Resources Administrator for Law Enforcement

Where Was the Ceremony Held?

The inductees were presented with their certificates in a ceremony that took place in John Light Hall, Room 195 on Hocking College's main campus.

According to the Dean of Natural Resources, Dr. Daniel Kelley stated that approximately 75 people were in attendance. The ceremony was “an effort to help students build better connections with Natural Resources alumni,” Dr. Kelley said.

Prior to the ceremony, the inductees also took part in a Q&A panel discussion concerning their work-related experiences in the natural resources industry.

Both events coincided with Hocking College’s annual homecoming festivities.
