Sponsored by the Ohio Board of Regents, the Ohio Safety Officers College Memorial Fund (OSOCMF) Scholarship provides tuition assistance to the children and spouses of peace officers, firefighters and certain other safety officers who have been killed in the line-of-duty anywhere in the U.S.
The OSOCMF scholarship also provides assistance to the children and spouses of a member of the U.S. armed services who has been killed in the line of duty during Operation Enduring Freedom, Operation Iraqi Freedom, or a combat zone designated by the President of the United States.
However, children are only eligible for this program if they are not eligible for the Ohio War Orphans Scholarship.
Recipients must be an Ohio resident and can either be a full-time or part-time student at any participating Ohio post-secondary institution.
Yes, this scholarship covers 10 semesters or 15 quarters, which is equivalent to five years, or until the applicant has received their bachelor’s degree.
The deadline to apply for this scholarship is December 31, 2019.
