Coronavirus Update - Spring and Summer 2020 Courses

by Tim Brunicardi on April 14, 2020

New call-to-action

The statement below is in regards to Spring and Summer 2020 courses:

Our primary goals are your safety and keeping you on track academically. Ohio’s Stay at Home Order has greatly influenced how you’ll take your courses. We’ve worked hard to quickly develop plans to provide you with the educational pathway you’ll need to be successful. However, the situation remains fluid and we ask for your patience and cooperation.

Spring 2020

All courses will continue online for the Spring 2020 semester, with a few exceptions for courses where a field experience has been deemed necessary. Courses that require field experience are listed below by school. This revised schedule does not have any negative impact on your financial aid.

These dates are subject to any extension of the stay-at-home order issued by the director of the Ohio Department of Health. For additional questions about these courses, contact the dean of the appropriate school. To view the revised Spring 2020 Academic Calendar, please click here.

Summer 2020

In addition to courses held this spring, all Summer 2020 courses will be conducted online, with a few exceptions for courses where a field experience has been deemed necessary. Courses that require field experience are listed below by school. This revised schedule does not have any negative impact on your financial aid.

These dates are subject to any possible extension of the stay-at-home order issued by the director of the Ohio Department of Health. For additional questions about these courses, contact the dean of the appropriate school.

The lists for Spring 2020 and Summer 2020 are different. Please review the correct list to make sure you know what is happening with your courses.

Autumn 2020

We are planning to begin with the regular calendar as scheduled. The executive team is planning alternative scenarios in case they will be needed. If you are interested in a dorm for Fall 2020, complete the housing application form found here.

Dorm Eligibility for Summer 2020

Dorms will be limited to students who are taking courses that require field experience to be completed on campus during the spring and summer semesters. For more information or to request a dorm while you complete your field-experience courses, please email housing@hocking.edu.

We ask that everyone remain flexible as we continue to make changes as the situation evolves and more information and direction from health officials become available.

Hocking College is dedicated to promoting the health, safety and well-being of our student and employee populations. In support of that goal, we are releasing this information bulletin to inform you of the actions we are taking to assess, prevent, protect and respond to the coronavirus.

Thank you all for your flexibility and cooperation while we work together as a community to create a safe environment in response to this rapidly changing matter.
