The statement below is in regards to Courses beginning Monday, March 23:

Welcome back from Hocking College’s extended Spring Break. Courses resume online, Monday, March 23, 2020. Our #1 goal is to protect your health and safety and #2 keep you on track to complete your educational goals as you prepare for life beyond this health emergency.  

The remainder of Spring semester has been divided into two parts with courses resuming Monday, March 23rd in an online learning environment.

  • Part One (March 23 – April 19) all courses will be offered online at the same time as originally scheduled. 
  • Part Two (April 20 – May 15) will be determined at a later date as more information becomes available. Consideration will be given to mandatory accreditation requirements in order to minimize any disruption in academic progression and the ability for students to graduate.

What You Need to Know to Start Your Courses

Course Access and Course Materials

Hocking College has multiple tools available to assist you in successfully completing online courses which include: Moodle, BlueQuill, and Blackboard. To access your courses and training videos click here.

Check your email. Your instructors will send you an email with everything you need, including access information, course materials, etc. 

Virtual Class Meetings

You will continue to meet VIRTUALLY during your regularly scheduled class time in Blackboard Collaborate or BlueQuill Big Blue Button. These tools allow students and instructors to meet over computers and mobile devices, share content, and conduct presentations.

Example: If your class was scheduled to meet on campus at 1:00 p.m. on Mondays and Thursdays, your class will continue to meet at 1:00 pm on Mondays and Thursdays VIRTUALLY.

Your instructor will send you instructions for your virtual class meetings.
