Hocking College Men’s Basketball Team (7-14) fell 71-49 to Lakeland Community College (16-4) on Saturday, February 2.
Lakeland controlled the game in the first half with players Rob Brown, John Dawson, and Jonny Bowers all scoring eight points. Hocking College freshman Azende Johnson paced with 12 points as the Hawks shot only 23.5% from the field, trailing 42- 23 at halftime.
The Lakers extended their lead in the second half to as many as 30 points (61-31) with 14 minutes remaining. They finished the game shooting 61.4% from the field and 45.5% from behind the arc. Tyreke Johnson scored eight of his team-high 14 points in the second half. Azende led all scorers with 22 points, shooting 8-for-13 from the field.
The next home game for the Men's Basketball Team is Wednesday, Feb. 6 at 7:30PM in the Student Center against Edison State Community College.
