- Make sure your internet connection is as secure as possible.
- Check your bank statements online on a regular basis for discrepancies.
- Only access your accounts for a single computer.
- Change your passwords at least once a month.
- Make your passwords more complex.
- Signup for login notifications.
- Keep your online security systems as up-to-date as possible.
- Utilize a firewall.
- Be smart and avoid any “click bait” headlines.
- Practice safe online shopping habits.
- Signup for login notifications.
- Download items with extreme caution.
- Share items with even more caution.
- Never save your passwords on auto login.
- Use different passwords for each of your online accounts.
- Don’t put too much of your personal information on your social media accounts.
- Don’t access your personal accounts from a public computer.
- Check out any website’s privacy rules.
- Avoid pop-up windows.
- Never open unsolicited emails.
Where Can I Get Training in Cybersecurity?
Hocking College now offers a Cybersecurity and Network Systems program. In only four semesters, students can graduate with an Associate of Applied Science in Cybersecurity and Network Systems Technology. All students need to succeed in this program are some basic computer skills and a willingness to learn.
