The credit transfer process includes Hocking College and the receiving institution (the college or university where the student wishes to transfer to) collaborating to review the curriculum of each class. All credits taken from the Ohio Transfer Module list of approved classes satisfy all requirements and are able to be transferred to any higher institution in Ohio. Any credits taken outside of the list of approved classes are reviewed and awarded on a course-by-course basis. Therefore, classes taken in the Ohio Transfer Module will be transferred, but classes taken outside of the module will be reviewed and considered for transfer but are not guaranteed.

What Can Students Do Within the Ohio Transfer Module at Hocking College?

Generally, the Ohio Transfer Module is designed for students who know that they will be transferring to another institution to pursue a four year degree. However, along with completing the Ohio Transfer Module, students can also earn their degree in Associate of Arts or Associate of Science. Completion of either degree results in the completion of the Ohio Transfer Module. If, after transferring to another institution and a student would like to complete an Associate of Arts or Associate of Science, that student can do so through a process call Reverse Transfer.

Do Students Have to Complete the Ohio Transfer Module for Their Credits to Transfer?

No. Students do not have to complete the Ohio Transfer Module to receive credit at their receiving institution. Transferred credits will be reviewed by Hocking College and the receiving institution. Credits will then be awarded on a course-by-course basis.

What are the Advantages of Taking Credits Through the Ohio Transfer Module at Hocking College?

Hocking College allows students to complete college credit for a lower price than offered by larger or private institutions. This way, students can save money and finish their degree without mountains of debt in student loans. The Ohio Transfer Module also gives students the opportunity to work toward their degree without having to retake classes.
