The Hocking Hawks Archery Team traveled to Madisonville, KY to compete in the 2019 United States Collegiate Archery Association (USCA) Indoor Championships, which took place last week on January 16-18.
The United States Intercollegiate Indoor Championship is determined by head-to-head elimination match play competitions for both individuals and teams. Several students from Hocking College placed as regional champs in these competitions.
Regional Champions
- 1st place in Barebow Men — Cole Luburgh (Score: 1,027)
- 1st place in Barebow Men’s Team — Cole Luburgh, Wyatt Grimm, & Hunter Collins (Score: 2,429)
In addition to having students place first in regionals, several other members of the team placed in the following categories:

- 7th place — Wyatt Grimm (Score: 727)
- 9th place — Hunter Collins (Score: 675)
Bowhunter Men
- 6th place — Dylan Breidenbach (Score: 1,167)
- 14th place — Lee Newell (Score: 1,148)
- 15th place — Craig Wolfe (Score: 1,146)
- 31st place — Logan Kucera (Score: 1,108)
- 36th place — Jacob Ishmael (Score: 1,078)
- 37th place — Oren Parker (Score: 1,071)
Bowhunter Women
- 8th place — Christina Dormire (Score: 1,135)
Compound Women
- 10th — Rebekah Matthews (Score: 1,117)
- 17th — Halle Linger (Score: 1,090)
Compound Men
- 17th — Bradley Wyatt (Score: 1,111)
- 21st — Austen Sekerak (Score 1,101)
Off to Vegas, Baby!
In addition to this competition, athletes Cole Luburgh and Dylan Breidenbach are national qualifiers and will be traveling to Las Vegas, NV to shoot in the National Championships on February 8-10.
