Lady Hawks Fall Short in 2nd Half Comeback
Hocking College 58
Clark State Community College 61

Hocking College traveled to Springfield on Saturday to take on the Eagles of Clark State Community College. Despite a valiant effort in the second half the Hawks fell 61-58 to the Eagles.

Clark State jumped out to an early 20-12 lead after the 1st quarter and led 35-17 at the half. The 2nd half was all Hocking as they pressured the Eagles and fought back from as much as a 21 point deficit in the 3rd quarter.

"I was impressed with our girls effort this afternoon" said Coach Ron Conner. "They battled and fought with all their muster to comeback in the second half. After being down 18 at half and as much as 21 in the third they could have easily given up but they left it all on the floor in the second half and we just came up short in the final seconds."

Hocking College was again led by freshman Macy McCollister with 19 points, 4 rebounds, 4 steals, and 3 assists. She was followed in scoring by Alison Bray with 18 points, Brandy Merritt added 10, Kylie Jettinghoff had 4, Jena Cozad and Randi Barker each chipped in 3 points and Chelsie Kotlar had 1 point off the bench.

The Eagles were led by Taylor Johnson and Chelsea Daniels as they both notched a double-double. Taylor Johnson had 16 points and pulled down 15 rebounds while Chelsea Daniels scored 10 points and 12 rebounds.

The Lady Hawks will return to action this Wednesday as they host Lakeland Community College at 5:30 p.m.
