New driving range open at Hocking College

Attention All Dawn Patrollers and Weekend Warriors! The Hocking College Driving Range is ready for you!

Where is the driving range located?

The driving range is located on Hocking College Campus across the street from the John Light Parking Lot.

Is the driving range open to the public?

Absolutely! The driving range is open to both Hocking College faculty, staff and students as well as the general public. 

How big is the range? 

The range is 300 yards. 

WhEn is the driving range open?

The range is open from 11 a.m. - 8 p.m. on Mondays through Saturdays and 11 a.m. - 6 p.m. on Sundays. No use of the range is permitted outside business hours. 

When will the range close for the season?

Currently, the Hocking College driving range is scheduled to remain open until late November. 

How much does it cost to use the driving range?

Use of the Hocking College Driving Range is free to all Hocking College students and staff with their college ID. The public can purchase balls for $5 small bucket (approximately 45 balls) or $7 for a large bucket (approximately 90 balls). 

Is there a limit to how many golfers can be on the driving range? 

There will be 6-8 tee boxes available to use at one time.

Do you need to call ahead to reserve a spot on the range? 

No reservations are necessary. However, in keeping with the college’s coronavirus protocol, visitors must check in on-campus to have their temperature taken and receive their wristband before visiting the range. Check-in locations for visitors at the following times and locations: 

• 11 a.m. - 5 p.m. Monday through Friday at the north entrance to John Light Hall 

• 5 p.m. until the range closes Monday through Friday at the Hocking College Police Department
• Weekends - HCPD

Will there always be an attendant available on the driving range?

Yes! An attendant will be on duty while the range is open.  

Do golfers need to bring their own balls, tees, etc.?

The only thing golfers need to bring is their clubs. However, clubs will be available to use at the range.

Will food, alcohol or tobacco be permitted on the driving range?

No alcohol or tobacco products are permitted on Hocking College property, including the driving range. 

What are the rules for the driving range?

• Be sure your surrounding area is clear before swinging a club.
• Aim at targets-do not aim toward the road.
• Hitting balls or retrieving balls in front of the tee box is prohibited.
• Children under 16 must be accompanied by an adult at all times.
• Use of the driving range outside of scheduled hours is prohibited.
