Hocking College Women’s Basketball Team (1-9) fell to the #9 ranked team in the National Junior College Athletics Association, D-III, Owens Community College (10-7) 99-18 at home on Saturday, January 12.

Owens Community College (OCC) was led by Whitney Thames who scored a game high of 28 points. She shot 75% from the field with 14 rebounds and 4 assists. Taylor Works also added 27 points, 12 rebounds, and 7 assists.

OCC took a commanding halftime lead of 60-9, and had three players score more than 20 points overall. OCC shot 62.9% from the field and out-rebounded the Hawks, 51-11.

The Hawks were led by Shanyce Cabrales with 10 points and 3 rebounds. Shannon Moore also added 7 points and 2 rebounds.

Their next game will be at home on Wednesday, January 16 at 5:30 p.m. against Sinclair Community College.
