The Gay/Lesbian Adoptive/Foster Parent Scholarship is designed for high-school, undergraduate, and graduate students who have gay/lesbian adoptive or foster parent(s).
The scholarship comes courtesy of Child Support Lawyer L.A., an attorney service built to assist people with child support, custody, adoption and many other support practices for children and families in need of help.
What's the Award Amount of This Scholarship?
The purpose of this scholarship is to award a student a $750 scholarship with $500 covering tuition and $250 for living expenses.
What Do I Need to Do to Apply?
Applicants are required to write a 500-650 word essay focusing on the topic: My adoptive/foster parent(s) is gay/lesbian and I wouldn’t change it.
The essay will be evaluated on their responsiveness, clarity, and organization, which will influence the grading of the application. Applicants are asked to submit their application and essay by no later than September 30, 2019. Applicants who do not win will not be notified.
What Are the Eligibility Requirements & How Do I Apply?
Applicants of this scholarship must have a gay/lesbian adoptive or foster parent(s). In addition, they must be at least 18 years old and must send proof of their enrollment in a community, public, private or graduate school. Students must also have a course load of at least six (6) credits and must have a cumulative GPA of 2.0.
