Hocking College Receives Grant to offer Scholarships for Short-Term Certificates

Beginning in January 2022, Hocking College has increased scholarship opportunities for students enrolling in one or more Short-Term Certificate programs, thanks to a grant received from the Ohio Department of Higher Education. Students enrolling in one of the eligible certificate programs and meeting the enrollment eligibility criteria will be considered for up to a $2,000 award. The award will be applied to the expenses of tuition and fees.

New Telecom Tower Technician Training Program comes to Hocking College

In November 2021, Ohio Lt. Governor Jon Husted, who serves as Director of the Governor’s Office of Workforce Transformation (OWT), announced the launch of Telecommunications Tower Technician Programs at three Ohio institutions: Hocking College, North Central State College and Vanguard-Sentinel Career & Technology Center.

The Hocking College Foundation is a not-for-profit 501(c)(3) organization that works with members of the community to achieve and maintain excellence, undertake development programs and enhance the college’s educational and public service mission. The Foundation provides over 50 scholarships and is responsible for the coordination of philanthropic and fundraising initiatives within the private sector and external support for the college’s programs, students, faculty and staff. The mission of the Hocking College Foundation is to promote community awareness, build and nurture meaningful relationships, and connect community partners with giving opportunities that fulfill their philanthropic objectives while advancing the mission of Hocking College.

Veteran & Military Services at Hocking College

Originally called, “Armistice Day,” Veterans Day was first celebrated on November 11, 1919, to commemorate the first anniversary of the end of World War I, and to honor the U.S. soldiers who served their country. In 1954, the name was officially changed to “Veterans Day” and the annual holiday officially became a day to honor American veterans of all wars.

Hocking College Student Athlete Makes History

Caden Cox is a freshman at Hocking College, pursuing an Associate of Technical Study degree with a focus on Canine Programs and Performing Arts. He is a kicker on the Hocking College Hawks Football team, a member of the Theater club, and a student employee on campus.
