Beginning in January 2022, Hocking College has increased scholarship opportunities for students enrolling in one or more Short-Term Certificate programs, thanks to a grant received from the Ohio Department of Higher Education. Students enrolling in one of the eligible certificate programs and meeting the enrollment eligibility criteria will be considered for up to a $2,000 award. The award will be applied to the expenses of tuition and fees.

Last month, Hocking College EMS Program Manager, Robert Cornwell, was named the 2019 recipient of the John P. Moore EMS Award for Excellence at the Ohio EMS Conference held on May 20 – 21 in Columbus, OH.
Currently, the only thing an Emergency Medical Services (EMS) employee needs in order to secure employment is a National EMS Certification. However, a recent joint statement from the National Association of EMS Educators, the National EMS Management Association, and the International Association of Flight and Critical Care Paramedics indicated that this situation could be changing.
