Hocking College breaks ground on $2 mil. equine arena

NELSONVILLE, Ohio Hocking College broke ground on a new approximately $2 million equine arena Thursday evening, Feb. 20, 2020.


The 30,000 square foot building will be built on the school’s Nelsonville campus in what is now an overflow parking lot.


Site work will begin immediately, and construction of the building itself is expected to finish by the end of the year.


Planning for the building began last year, and Hocking College Chief of Staff Jeff Daubenmire said when people drive into campus, the massive structure will be the first thing they see.

Program Manager Wins Championship Title at National Thoroughbred Show

Hocking College's Equine Program Manager, Bethany Siehr, recently competed and placed in the third annual Thoroughbred Incentive Program National Championship.

Overall, some 500 thoroughbreds competed in a total of 26 divisions comprising English Pleasure, Western Pleasure, Dressage, Western Dressage, Hunters, and Jumpers.
