For many people, January is a time where you determine a new year's resolution. Often times these will be to get in better shape or to cut out coffee, but a great resolution to consider for 2020 is training your four-legged friend. Afterall, January is National Train Your Dog Month.
Hocking College's Equine Program Manager, Bethany Siehr, recently competed and placed in the third annual Thoroughbred Incentive Program National Championship.
Overall, some 500 thoroughbreds competed in a total of 26 divisions comprising English Pleasure, Western Pleasure, Dressage, Western Dressage, Hunters, and Jumpers.
Animal Assisted Therapy is one of many new programs offered here at Hocking College. This program offers students two paths you can choose an equine track which will focus on training and therapy of horses or canine which focuses on man's best friend.

On Tuesday, April 9 students from Hocking College’s Addiction Counseling, Criminal Justice and Animal Assisted Therapy Programs were invited to attend a K-9 unit demonstration courtesy of the Fairfield County Sheriff’s Office.
