2019 Season Recap: Hocking Hawks See Improvement In 2019

Nelsonville, OH — The Hocking College football team entered the 2019 season looking to compete with the top teams in the NJCAA and improve on a disappointing one-win season in 2018. The Hawks improved their record to 3-6, but struggled against the nations top teams like Lackawanna (ranked #2), Georgia Military College and Monroe College. 

Agroecology Students Host Farm-to-Table Event

On Wednesday, October 10, 2019, students in Hocking College’s Agroecology department held a Farm-to-Table brunch at historic Robbins Crossing from 11AM-Noon.

A Farm-to-Table event is a unique dining experience that encourages guests to sample foods that have all been grown, processed and prepared locally.

Program Manager Wins Championship Title at National Thoroughbred Show

Hocking College's Equine Program Manager, Bethany Siehr, recently competed and placed in the third annual Thoroughbred Incentive Program National Championship.

Overall, some 500 thoroughbreds competed in a total of 26 divisions comprising English Pleasure, Western Pleasure, Dressage, Western Dressage, Hunters, and Jumpers.

AmeriCorps Vista Promotes Hocking Makers Network

Originally from Carroll, OH, Spires graduated from Bloom-Carroll High School in 2016. Afterward, he attended the Fairfield branch of Eastland-Fairfield also located in Carroll, and later Hocking College.

In 2019, Spired graduated from HC with his Associate of Individualized Studies in Cybersecurity & Ethical Hacking degree, and soon thereafter accepted his current position at the school as an AmeriCorps Vista.
