Performing Arts Program Anticipates Upcoming Year
Hocking College believes in creating an environment on its campus where all students feel safe and thrive. The Rainbow Alliance Club is that safe place at Hocking. Katie Walters, the club's advisor, states the club is open to all students regardless of their sexual orientation. They welcome every goofy, straight-laced, lost, and confident student. They believe that every student has a place among those in Rainbow Alliance. It doesn't matter if you're Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, Transgender, Queer, Intersex, and Asexual, or you want to be a better ally to your friends and family in the LGBTQIA+ community, this club is for you. It's also the perfect place to meet other students and socialize. This club participates in and organizes various social events throughout the year, including movie nights, trivia nights, discussions, and education.
In order to make the Hocking College Dean’s List, students need to be in good academic standing and achieve a term GPA of 3.5 or higher, and a minimum cumulative GPA of 2.0.
Let’s celebrate because Mental Health is finally being recognized as an important piece of our overall well-being and healthcare. Everyone has mental health, just like everyone has physical health; and as a result, there are times when we need to focus on taking better care of our mental health.
If you love the outdoors and want an exciting career that's different every day and rewarding, we have the perfect program.
The Hawks baseball team finished their first season in school history this weekend, falling to Edison State Community College in two doubleheaders. The Hawks compete in the Ohio Community College Athletic Conference and play some of the best competition in Junior College baseball. The team started the season with over 20 men on the roster, but as the year progressed, injuries would take out key players in the lineup. Although the numbers dwindled, the Hawks still put up a fight in every game. They finished the season with a 5-22 record. For a brand new program, five wins is a great starting point moving forward. All five happened to also come in conference play (OCCAC).
