February kicks off American Heart Month, an annual celebration that began in 1963 to encourage Americans to join the battle against heart disease. A presidential proclamation pays tribute each year to researchers, physicians, public health professionals, and volunteers for their tireless efforts in preventing, treating, and researching heart disease.

The Hocking College Men’s Basketball Team (6-13) fell to Clark State (10-11), 77-70, despite coming back within one from a 20-point second half deficit.
The Hocking College Women’s Basketball Team (1-11) fell to Columbus State Community College (5-10), 110-41, in an Ohio Community College Athletic Conference (OCCAC) game on Wednesday evening.

Hocking College Women’s Basketball Team (1-10) fell to Sinclair Community College (12-3), 104-37 on Wednesday, January 16.
Hocking College defeated Sinclair Community College last night with a final score of 102-92. Three Hocking players finished with more than 20 points. Sophomore guard Jose Deleon scored a game-high of 28 points, sophomore guard Jarell Giles scored 26 points, and freshman guard Azende Johnson scored 22 points. Giles led the Hawks in the first half, scoring 19 of his 26 points which included 12 points in the first nine minutes.
Hocking College Women’s Basketball Team (1-9) fell to the #9 ranked team in the National Junior College Athletics Association, D-III, Owens Community College (10-7) 99-18 at home on Saturday, January 12.
Hocking College Men’s Basketball Team (5-10) came up with a big second half comeback against Owens Community College (2-16), boosting the Hawks to a 71-67 win at home on Saturday, January 12.
