Hocking College applied in December 2021, to become a Regional Training Center to deliver Ohio Peace Officer Training Academy (OPOTA) Certified Advanced Training and 2022 Continual Professional Training (CPU). Dwight Holcomb, Executive Director of the Ohio Peace Officer Training Academy, had sent out an announcement on November 11, 2021, requesting applications. Applicants needed to have experience educating students, have specific facility requirements, qualified instructors and provide high-quality training to law enforcement officers. On January 28, 2022, the college was selected as the successful candidate for the Southeast Regional Training Center for Southeast Ohio.

Hocking College is constantly looking for opportunities for its students to gain real-world experience before entering the job market. Recently, the college partnered with OhioHealth O'Bleness Hospital to offer fourth semester Registered Nursing Students (RN4) a clinical immersion.
Hocking College welcomes Travis Fullerton as the new Program Manager of the Fitness Management program. Fullerton grew up in Kingston, Ohio, and was involved in football, wrestling, strength, conditioning, and biology while attending Logan Elm High School in Circleville, Ohio.

The Fashion Design & Retail Merchandising (FDRM) Program at Hocking College hosted a sold-out Inaugural Fashion Show on Friday, April 22, at the Lodge in Nelsonville, OH. Coral Wedel, FDRM Program Manager, said that the fashion show was meant to "showcase student work in design, styling, business concept, planning and production of a live fashion show."
Terry Koons, Manager for the Career and University Center at Hocking College, is helping current students and recent graduates reach their professional career goals.
The Hocking College Collegiate Horsemen's Association (CHA) took 13 students to attend the American Collegiate Horsemen's Association (ACHA) National Convention in Ocala, Florida, from April 6 - April 9.
