Celebrating National Nurses Week
Every year between May 6 and May 12 is National Nurses Week.
NELSONVILLE, Ohio—The ping of the metal bat will soon fill the air at Hocking College as the school launches a new softball team for the 2021-22 season.
The Hocking College equestrian team competed in their only show of the season last weekend at the Reality Dreams show at the Fairfield County Fairgrounds in Lancaster. Even though it was a cold and rainy day, the team had a blast! The 2020/2021 Equestrian team is Marcus Perko, Nina Goldsmith, Emma Smith, Courtney Easton, Rachael Jungling and Alex Spondike.
It was an abbreviated spring season, as anticipated, due to COVID-19 protocols around the country, but the Hocking College Hawks completed a three-game spring season with a record of 2-1 and statistically displayed the nation’s best defense. In fact, the Hawks currently rank first in the NJCAA allowing just 85.7 yards per game. The defense was tops in rushing defense (41.4 ypg) and passing defense (44.3 ypg).
The last year hasn’t been easy for anyone.

This spring, Hocking College’s Agroecology and Laboratory Sciences: Medical Cannabis programs will join forces to conduct a hemp-growing experiment.
Hocking College's Cole Luburgh recently won the South Carolina regional championship, while setting a national record.
